Android development

Applications in Android are developed using Android Studio or Xamarin Studio.

Applications in Android are developed in one of the following ways:

  • Android Studio – Android Studio is an environment (offered by Google) that provide the tools to build applications only for Android. For the moment, the platform’s version is 1.3.x. Apps are built using Java as development language, XML for building the interface and the respective API in order to develop for Android. The version of API actually used is API 22 or Lollipop 5.1.x
  • Xamarin Solutions – represent a number of solutions which can be used to develop mobile applications for iOS, Android and Windows Phone, using only C# as a high level language. The logic is developed only once and it’s shareable afterwards, meanwhile the interface is developed in one of the following way:
    • Separately using Xamarin.iOS and Xamarin.Android
    • Only once using Xamarin.Forms
